It is. Go to File > Document Setup > Hyphenator and deselect the option "Hyphenation Suggestions". > 2) It does not recognize all possibilities - it even doesn't ask > sometimes, so there are some holes remaining (see link above) Scribus uses OpenOffice.org hyphenation files, which are far from being perfect.
