I also just started having this problem with Tahoma. It worked fine last month, but now it's giving the thick lines for both 'l' and full-stops (the full-stops are less noticeable, though).
It's mostly a problem with the PDF, though - it's slightly noticeable, but not nearly as bad when it's printed out. Jacqui
