[Scribus] Problems Inserting CMYK TIFF files

When I try to insert a CMYK TIFF file into Scribus, the image is 
distorted, with odd vertical stripes of color, and it is truncated.

I have tried TIFFs made both from Pfotoshop and ImageMagick's convert 
utility.
