i'm trying very hard to make linux my production machine. i have many fonts that i would like to install. i hope not to begin a flame war and i understand the sentiments of using ubuntu of some on this list, but whenever i install fontmatrix (version included with jaunty), firefox does not display text.
i know this because since reinstalling ubuntu and not fontmatrix i have not had this problem. i have read on the list that the version in jaunty is pretty buggy. is there another fontmanager that is available that is not so buggy and wont make the text disappear in firefox? coming from windows, i would like to have a gui. i have looked at defoma and find it difficult. i wouldn't even know how to begin to install additional fonts and don't know if it will accept otf and ps fonts. being still a novice to linux, i would appreciate any help. cheers, dwain -- "Fear of the devil is one way of doubting God.
