I'm very interested in this idea. Especially as it will allow to sharpen the photos in Digikam and re-export them to Scribus when I know their real size. However, in order to provide the best printing quality, I think the photos should not be edited, nor resized after they have been sharpened (and raw pictures definitely need sharpening).
