A fresh build works for me on an i386 Ubuntu 12.04 install. change the order of your CMake options for one, ie cmake, then options, then source dir cmake -DWANT_SYSTEM_CAIRO=1 -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/path/to/install/to/ ../location/of/source/directory/called/Scribus/ Craig
