Perhaps you would find one of Peter Wilson's publications of interest. http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/CTAN/info/memdesign/memdesign.pdf or its equivalent in a CTAN repository near you. Highly readable and you can skip the technical bits without detracting from the work. -- Owen
