Open Windows->Outline in your menu system and see if you can locate the text using that tool. Once I was able to do that, but another time I had to retype it all. However, I think text frames tend to move for reasons I cannot determine to locations far from the left edge of the Scribus window and maybe even off a defined page. However, if the text frames are still in the file, they should be in the Outlne list.
