AutoCAD still features these selection methods - if my memory doesn't betray me there were (in the 90s) also applications like CorelDraw using Ctrl+drag and Shift+drag to achieve this. I really like the AutoCAD-way and often miss it from Inkscape... Sveinn ? Felli
