Perhaps you could provide some more info as to what the error is. One issue
will be the Qt version. However, it is possible to install on Ubuntu 15, 16,
and 17. The others should be fine too.

Maybe they haven't gotten packages yet but you can still build from source.

What sort of hard disk could be the wrong type? In any case I would suggest
Windows 10 over 7 for a decent increase in security posture if properly
configured.
