Hello Scribus Team, 1) always start with positive praise: absolutely love scribus :)
being able to do great designs / Desktop Publishing under GNU Linux (Debian 10, love Debian :) rather than OSX & Adobe a user made a great series of video tutorials for it :) https://youtu.be/hMlT9C6xcDw <https://youtu.be/hMlT9C6xcDw> (absolutely the best way to learn scribus) 2) noticed: 2.1.) the latest version ain't available for Debian (1.4.8 is and can easily be installed via apt install scributs) 2.2.) in the README it is mentioned that coming 1.6 will not be able to read file format of 1.4 or 1.5 (as used in the video series) so does the user have to worry about the files backward compatibility? (imho with Adobe Illustrator it was like this: every version had an import function of the previous version... so in order to get the file format from 1 to 5 it was necessary: to install v2 and import from v1 then save in format v2 to install v3 and import from v2 then save in format v3 to install v4 and import from v3 then save in format v4 to install v5 and import from v4 then save in format v5 which is quiet a hazzle X-D will have 1.6 an import of file formats v1.5 and 1.4? best regards & keep up the good work 👍🏻😎🍻 ___ Scribus Mailing List: scribus@lists.scribus.net Edit your options or unsubscribe: http://lists.scribus.net/mailman/listinfo/scribus See also: http://wiki.scribus.net http://forums.scribus.net
