Hi Listers,
Does anyone know whether the much appreciated and useful app, extended
dictionary, is going to be supported in the future? I wrote to the
author, David P from Norway, enquiring about its status but with no
success.
The app requires that users agree to terms and conditions during
installation but this licence period appears to expire after some time
which results in the app no longer functioning. As the latest version
is dated just over 12 months ago, I am becoming concerned about just how
much longer the app will continue to function.
As I use this app numerous times daily when accessing a financial site
with its thousands of company abbreviations, I would miss the use of
this app to a great degree because it does such a fantastic job. There
is just nothing to replace it. Of course, the app is also used for a
normal dictionary for Eloquence and other voices as well.
In my opinion, the app currently does all that is required of an
extended dictionary and does not need any complex upgrades. I would be
more than happy to continue using the app in its present form providing
there was no time constraints as is presently the case.
Also, I would be more than willing to pay the author a reasonable amount
if I could continue to use this app in the future without the fear of it
ceasing to function. This is how much this app means to me and the
difference in productivity it has made.
In short, I sincerely hope that the extended dictionary app continues to
function well into the future and would like to thank the author for
his past efforts.
Cheers
Neville.
