Yes David, I have noticed the same thing ... all apps and restart never works.

So here we go, finally: Every now and then, one app or the other may crash. Reasons could be many, and I do hold it is not the important thing in this issue either. When the app crashes, though, you get a screen reporting the crash, with several choices. One choice is to RESTART the app. I hit the corresponding hotkey, or tab over to the Restart-button and hit Enter, and the screen disappears. You now would reason that the app has done what the button suggest; restarted the operation. But, NOPE! To just give you but one example - and yet it occurs no matter which app is in question - just now the Weather-Or-Not app crashed at me. I hit the Restart-button, waited a few seconds, and then hit the hotkey to activate the weather report (Ctrl-Insert-W). No weather report. Hit the hotkey a hundred times, and no weather report. I then took the trip to the WE panel, and opened the App Manager. Scrolling down to the actual app, it was listed as "Stopped". Had to manually restart it from within App Manager. As stated, have noticed this same behavior with a few other apps, which leads me to conclude it is not app related. Seems the Restart functionality is broken. Not sure when it got broken, I have noticed it for quite a while. Somehow have a feeling that it happpened with one of the later upgrades of the screen reader. Could as well go back to version 9.0. Just wondering if anyone else can reproduce the issue. Or, even better, if this could be fixed for future versions of the screen reader. Guess it is in the core of the screen reader itself, since it exhibits on all apps crashing. AISquared, any explanation as to why the Restart-button in the crashing screen won't work, when the manual restart from within App Manager does work perfectly well? I've always thought it to be quite convenient to have the Restart-button in the crash-screen, instead of having to travel the long way around the App Manager, hunting for the actual app. If this please could be fixed, it would be great. Can''t really imagine what setting in the screen reader should cause this to not work either. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
