This indeed is a nice tutorial, however things have progressed and
I don't think you need half the steps in that tutorial.

I did a similar exercise a few weeks ago and IIRC all it took was
to grab the latest sprecompiled distro of SDCC from the
website and it workder out of the box and did what it said says
on the tin. No need to compile it, no need to compile the libraries
and no need for the special linker file.

So basically you can take the LED and Helllo word samples
and make files (just delete the ref to the custom .lkr file )
and you are ready to go.

I maybe wrong here  because out of curiosity I tried to
compile both SDCC and the libraries and there were no
problems as far as I remember. So I'm not 100% sure
if one needs to compile the libraries or not but I do not
think it is because I did a second install out the distro
without compiling and I think it just worked.

Maybe some of the developers could comment on that.
