About to embark on a largish project on a PIC 18F system - not sure how much code it will compile into, but it's currently about 48KB on an AVR platform under avr-gcc, so I'm not sure how the code efficiency is on the PIC side - the target is a 96KB PIC device, so hopefully plenty of room to spare!)
However I read varying conflicting reports about the PIC code generator - it looks OK and I've had a look at the assembler output, not that I'm an expert, but it's generating code... Anyone done anything big with it? Anyway, I'm going to give SDCC a go before I go out & buy a commercial IDE. Just curious about others experiences..
