Now some configure script part this to extract the version from some sdcc output (probably sdcc --version) which now prints more license boilerplate than it did back then :-(. > Should I go back to a version that included asx8051? In your original email, configure started that it wanted to have sdcc 2, so I assume one of the 2.x.y versions of sdcc should do. >From sdcc's ChangeLog I gather that asx8051 was renamed to sdas8051 on 2009-10-17, just prior to bumping sdcc's version to 2.9.4. I thus conclude that you need some sdcc 2.9.3 or older, dated before 2009-10-16. I hope that you will be able to sort that out. Good luck, Raphael
