as for the openocd the plan is to get the stm8 target merged upstream as
soon as the code gets reviewed.
Regarding sdcc it is basically a big ugly hack to get it to play ball
with the inner workings of gdb. Hopefully sdcc will get proper dwarf
debugger tables implemented soon so sdcc will work without my patches.
