-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Moin,
tried it for the first time (I admit :) and run into troubles. First: I assume v2.0.5 is the latest and officially to use. I was confused by the sudden rise of David from the ashes, and stumped by the v2.0.5 release. If this is not the latest snapshot to use, please point me in the right direction. Second: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/perl/game/sdl-perl/SDL_Perl-2.0.5> perl Build.PL Base class package "Module::Build" is empty. (Perhaps you need to 'use' the module which defines that package first.) at make/lib/SDL/Build.pm line 4 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at make/lib/SDL/Build.pm line 4. Compilation failed in require at Build.PL line 7. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at Build.PL line 7. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/perl/game/sdl-perl/SDL_Perl-2.0.5> [install Module::Build] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/perl/game/sdl-perl/SDL_Perl-2.0.5> perl Build.PL Can't exec "sdl-config": No such file or directory at Build.PL line 9. Can't exec "sdl-config": No such file or directory at Build.PL line 10. SDL doesn't appear to be installed. Please check that sdl-config is in your path and try again. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/perl/game/sdl-perl/SDL_Perl-2.0.5> rpm --query SDL SDL-1.2.6-1 Aha! (Or, rather, "huh?") On a different machine with older version already installed I managed, but I got test-failures in the TTF tests (something about a non-inherited AUTOLOAD beeing deprecated). In addition, on that other machine I tried SDL::App::FPS and it failed horrible. Most of the failures go away if you do: use SDL::Event; use SDL::Constants; because formerly Event.pm exported all the constants, now Constants.pm does this. I like this, but I need to change my code (no real problem, but should be mentioned somewhere). There were some other failures and once I got SDL_Perl here installed, I'll check them and see if SDL::Perl needs patches or just my code.. I am still shocked that nobody tried my module at all... Cheers, Tels PS: If SDL::App can be "ported" to v2.0.5 "easily", I can drop my SDL pages and my "branch". Good. Nobody seemed have to tried it, anyway. - -- Signed on Wed Feb 18 18:54:06 2004 with key 0x93B84C15.
