There's confusion as to which is the "new snapshot", at least to me. Access http://phux.net/websvn/ and download the version in trunk of sdlperl there and give it a go. I've absolutely no problems compiling that version on Fedora Core 1, FC2, tinysofa, and trustix. It is usually the responsibility of the distribution to provide distribution specific packages. Perl modules are usually, and best, distributed in source form (via CPAN?), IMO. Andy.
