um sorry to be stupid and disagreeing but that last part of j'nuh isn't
that weird of a time..its very very cool but it certainly isn't....what yr
making it out to be..
if you still disagree..which you may...
i invite you to take a listen to one of my favorite bands...helmet...i
suppose helmet is "rock" music.
more like hardcore bop jazz. or soundgarden. they write in whacked times.
iscarabaid is unreal tho yes. :)
the complexity of sdre on level with bands like i just mentioned is what
makes them so "must listen" for me, along with the intense emotion and
amazing songwriting...

to respond to Hunter's comment...he has been perceptive in that he has
noted
5\4 and the time signatures on LP2...but it goes beyond that...you'll
notice
that the final part of J'Nuh is in the strangest time and weirdest rhythm
i've ever heard in "rock" music...totally next level stuff....anyway,
Iscarabaid, which i agree doesn't even seem real it's so damn cool is based
entirely on the pickup that comes before every measure....it's
complex...also their keys...what the fuck...the keys are all over the
place...they change from this one to that one so fluidly it's
amazing...days
were golden fluctuates between two keys the entire song and that song is
hands down one of the saddest, most moving songs i've heard...especially
when they do it live, goddamn....anyway, that's my piece thanks

Subject: RE: [sdre-l]: Complex music
I already deleted the e-mail pertaining to this so i cant quote it, but
someone asked about Complex musical techniques. I think in SDRE's case
perfect
example being 5/4 (or 54 or whatever), the complexity has to do with the
time
signatures...most songs are perfromed striaght thru in one time signature,
and
they dont jump around. However, 5/4 uses 2 different ones, and they jump
from
back to forth, thats what i think the "complex techinques" that are being
refered to on the song are. If you look at LP2, a lot of the songs like
that
are similar. Theo B uses several different time signatures, it seems. And
Ishcarabaid...man, that songs so fucking amazing that im not even sure if
its
real...who knows what signature thats in. The only other band that comes to
mind recently doing something similar is Radiohead with "paranoid Android",
and dammit, that was just to compare them to SDRE, if a Radiohead chain
gets
started my apologys, but its not my damn fault. Thanks for listening since
i
might not even know what im talking about! I hope you all have a wonderful
day.
Hunter
