I am a new member.... but not so new. I was on the list in the early post
breakup period. So trust me I'm not someone completely without an idea as to
what I'm talking about.
What is important for me about the band is the music. The trivia and over
analysis was fun when they were broken up. When there was really little else
to do but theorize and analyze and share. But with the arrival of new material
the music should once more be at the forefront. So forgive someone who doesn't
know the meaning behind Iscarabaid.....or where they can find Astiocles in
mythology text.... if they love the music they are no better.... no higher or
lower on any chain than you are. It is about the music..... and we should all
be equal in that we are all fans.... no ladder .... no chain.... nothing to
imply that any of us are inferior to anyone else for the pure and simple fact
that we live in Dusty, Texas as opposed to next door to Jeremy..... we are all
fans..... so try and overlook some trivialities... put it in perspective of
the greater point.... which is the music......everyone deserves kindness and a
community atmosphere. Ansigod is no greater than any of you.... he is a person
just like anyone.... he just happens to have the time to put work into making
a web page (which many people have done) and establishing
"connections"........and I remember not so long ago... when he only had one of
the two and was just a tape trading lister......it upsets me that there is a
perceived chain. So please Ansigod.... remember that as you tell someone that
they are being "immature" or anything of the like.... remember that as you
pass two fans freezing in the cold while you get to watch the band warm up
because you are on the guest list...... one of those fans was me......getting
to see them warm up would have made my year......and you just walked by and
watched them warm up for the millionth time.... because you were higher on the
"chain"...... what makes you better? Think about it
