Picked up a TRIPLE CD of this Pakistani musician's live Paris concert and it features some intriguing insight into what's really going on with the new album's vibe. First off, there is something called a HAMD, it's loosely translated as a hymn to God and begins the entire concert (which by my estimation lasted over four hours). I have started thinking that the chanting at the beginning of "The Prophet" might actually be a "hamd" , or at least contain the word "hamd" in the chant (sounds like it). Second, the structure of the song "The Prophet" with the singing Jeremy does at the beginning is VERY similar to Ali Khan's concert structure. I was amazed to see the similarity between many of the melodies on "The Prophet" and "Roses in Water" on the concert CD. Definitely worth the investment not just for SDRE purposes, I found this music to be quite enjoyable and thrilling, much like the new album. 10Charlie PS As for the junk posts: I left Postcard (an alterna-country list) for this list, and wonder how in two weeks it has degenerated to the level of an AOL chat room. Go figure.
