I have been reading posts on this list for the last 3 weeks or so, and I
must say that I am not sure why this list even exists. From what I
remember,

"This mailing list's purpose is to discuss issues about (and relating
directly to) Sunny Day Real Estate and promote tape trading among fans.
Off topic posts are discouraged and disregard of this policy will not be
tolerated."

>From what I have observed over the last three weeks, relevant topics
include veganism, Damien Jurado, TOM Fest, spell checkers, handwriting,
Nirvana, and the Foo Fighters. Then someone feels cool, and they write a
message about how "off the subject" everyone is. Shortly after, another
topic which could in some way be related to Sunny Day Real Estate pops
up, and after a bunch of fiery retorts, the same procedure follows. If
it weren't for the few honest questions about how to get tickets for
shows, I'd think this was the "Sunny Day Real Estate Fan Bickering
Mailing List".

I personally enjoy the opportunity to discuss discuss some of this
stuff, and I think it does have relevance to Sunny Day Real Estate fans
or we wouldn't be posting about such things. Maybe someone could start
another mailing list for OTS posts.

So you say, "Why doesn't he just quit?" Well, I am a big Sunny Day fan,
and I'd like to be able to stay on the list. But if the quality remains
as it is, I don't see why I should let my mailbox fill with messages
from other people whining about why someone else's *opinion* is wrong.

Thanks for listening.
