hey cool thread idea... weird places y've heard sunny day.
well in seattle, hearing sunny day is a bit more common. when "seven" came
out, commercial radio in seattle (KNDD, mostly) was all over it. you still
hear "seven" or "pillars" on The End on onccasion.
college radio (like KGRG) plays sunny day all the time, maybe even too much,
if that's possible....
also, the AM radio broadcasts of seattle supersonics games used to use "seven"
as fade to commercial music.
i tried to play hiftbso during my weight lifting class (boo... it sucks... but
i need a pe credit to graduate) but they turned it off... "wah, it's too slow!"
my band, ysib, recently played a show with a local 8-piece ska band called deep
fried denise. i was wearing my hiftbso shirt with the sun on it, and i ran
into the drummer of DFD and we, and then eventually more of the guys in the
band, started chatting it up about sunny day. not what i was expecting from
a punk/ska outfit like that. ah well, boo me to make generalizations. but
then again, everyone does.
ah well, hearing sunny day in seattle is relatively common, so i don't really
have any "weird" experiences to share.
