Sorry to start this week off with such sour news but... here is the
official message form the band themselves:
After almost six long years of touring, recording and playing music
together, Braid has decided to call it quits this August. It has been the
greatest experience of all of our lives, but all of the work involved has
taken a bit too much of a toll on our creative output and most
importantly, on our friendship. So rather than sacrifice our care and
respect for each other, we decided to put an end to exactly what was
pulling us apart. This also clears the way for us to start anew and
pursue other musical and educational interests. We thank everyone that
has helped us along the way, let us sleep on their floors, talked to us,
or set up one of the 530+ shows that we played... If it's a bit
upsetting, we're sorry, but we all feel that this is the only option that
we could choose. We will all still be playing music, so be warned that
you haven't seen the last of each of us.

1. The above mentioned Braid single is BY FAR the best thing they have ever
done. Promo will be EXTREMELY limited to only those people that SWEAR they
will revw it.
2. If you need to do a Joan of Arc intvw, they leave for tour THIS FRIDAY,
so act now. Burning Airlines leaves the 10th. Euphone leaves the 12th. If
you have a desire to talk to anyone in a prompt fashion, I would highly
recommend setting up that intvw now.
