<< Hmm.. I believe, that LP2 is an album of unrequited love. And i dont
think that it's giving someone(s) too much credit to say that they've used
an allusion to Shakespeare when they're in their teens/early 20s. Being a
writer has nothing to do with age, you know what i mean? >>
I didn't say it wouldn't fit for an 18-yr-old to write that, I said it
wouldn't fit for an 18-yr-old Jeremy to write that -- specifically meaning
Jeremy and what we know about his writing, not age in general. "Err on err"
just seems way too arcane, I've never seen him use the word "err" anywhere
else and I've never seen him use Shakespearian English. I think perhaps (it's
just a guess) he wanted a lyric to go with the more mundane "turned dust to
dust," so he came up with the corresponding "sang air on air." (onair?)
I totally agree that Rodeo Jones is a tragic love song, along with Theo B.
But there are other themes on the record too, like the religious themes of a
few and some very extremely abstract songs like J'Nuh.
