Hey everyone,
I figured I'd let everyone know that the show 7/4 in Irvine was EXCELLENT,
although a little too short. I didn't write down the order of the songs, but
the played many songs off of HIFTBSO. They opened with In Circles and also
played Song about an Angel. The sound was actually pretty decent for being in
an open field in pretty much a desert. The guys seemed like they were having
a really good time and the crowd was definitely into it. Most of the people I
talked to left after SDRE played and didnt stick around for Sonic Youth
(myself included). I don't know, once you see SDRE, what else could possibly
follow? They were selling that 7 inch and sold out very quickly, the one with
Pillars pressed in Spain. Dan's wife said they only had 100 to sell and only
200 were pressed. Joe said they are pretty much going to go to Japan, then
come back and work on the new album, that it's really hard to work on new
stuff and tour at the same time. The live album should be out "sometime
around September" according to Joe. Dan's wife said that they are still not
nailed down to a label. I asked her if any of the guys ever read the postings
on here and she said not really, that they don't really have time or access
(but she said maybe after they get through this new label thing they'd have
time). I got the impression that the band will have a lot more time to
breathe when they get back from Japan. It's been pretty much non-stop for
them for a year now. That's it for now! Oh, they'll probably be a ton of new
people on the list, the book for new members was filled with page after page
of new email addresses. Don
