This time it to pass on info that may or may not interest some of you. The
GetUpKids plan to be in the studio in the next month to record their next
full length album. It will be released on Vagrant Recs. not their previous
label Dog House. Although Doghouse still plans to release a new 5 song ep
July 15. The new album for Vagrant Recs. has a planned Oct release. If this
seems like a short production time I should mention that their previous LP
"4 Minute Mile" was recorded in 2 days, and Vagrant Recs is not a label
heavy with bureaucracy. Look for the Kids to tour with new label mates Face
To Face this fall. I saw F2F this past sunday on their fan appreciation tour
and I can tell you that the material I heard from their new album due out
July 27 is far more melodic then the sorta-speed punk of their past. And as
long as I'm un-lurking for the day I might as well add that F2F has an
amazing new cd of all covers, they took a week off while recording their new
LP to have some fun and record covers of some of their Fav's. It can only be
purchased at their shows or through their website. If you are a music fan
get it, the sound quality is superb, and the band show incredible depth and
talent, these are not just punked up versions of the originals.

off the subject yes--but the face to face fan appreciation tour was
terrible--i saw the third show they were playing in new orleans and it
sucked--and the get up kids cd is supposed to be out in september is the word
i got and they must have a lot of people opening for them---the word i got is
jimmy eat world is playing the tour with them and no motiv who opened the
early dates of the fan appreciation tour is also to be on the bill as
well--at least from the word i got from the max the guitar player so if the
get up kids and face to face and jimmy all on one show and maybe no motiv on
some of the dates as well is going to be the kick ass show in the fall--as
long as face to face gets a tad bit better on the live thing--but i guess not
playing in a few years can do that to you
