hello.
as far as "thief, steal me a peach"
goes, the first thing came in to my mind was the book
"confessions" by st. augustine.
in it, he tells of his youth where he would pass by a
neighbor's house and take his peaches...he went on to
mourn over his depraved state for stealing peaches,
not for the sake of necessity, but just for the sake
of stealing....
i'm not sure about blake writing a poem about stealing
peaches, but since augustine is a bit older, i would
have to guess that he is the first source of this
peach stealing concept.
not that it might matter to most of you.
at least this is not about jimmy eat world.
hee hee.
