"B- so how did the bands name come about?
D- Oh yeah, well the concept behind the name is; human being think that they
own everything in the world, and since everything is owned, anytime you want
to do anything or go anywhere or be on a certain part of the earth, you have
to pay somebody for it. Anytime you want anything you have to exchange the
coupon with somebody to get in, and the concept is how ridiculous would it be
for people to try and sell a sunny day. So that's where Sunny Day Real
Estate came from, we are kind of these ludicrous Realtors of a sunny day. It
just sort of stuck after that.
B- Well actually, in a way; most people say that listening to your music,
which is what many people will say about their favorite bands, makes them
happier or brings them happiness. So in a way, I guess you are kind of
merchants of an internal sunny day; at least for a lot of people.
D- Yeah, (laughs) that's cool."
