Now for my two cents. I have to agree with Paul here about vocal
skills developing. Personally, the "pink album" is my favorite vocal album
(possibly fav. altogether). Jeremy just sounds sooo awesome on that one. The
vocals are incredible on "how it feels..." but it is also a whole different
style. More of him really singing the notes instead of what was done on the
previous albums. Keep in mind that I'm not ripping on DIARY at all. I still
love that album to this day and the vocals are great there too.
Someone commented on the live album earlier and was saying that
"song about an angel" was their favorite track on the disc. I personally
have been really listening a lot to all of the pre-how it feels... stuff on
that CD the most. It's really cool to hear the oldies with jeremy's more
developed voice (once again, not necessarily better or worse). My favorite
track from the live CD is "the blankets were the stairs", that song is
incredible both live and in the studio.
It was cool for me to hear him announce before "rodeo jones"
that the song was written back in the DIARY days. I never knew this before,
but I have always thought that it was probably the first song that was
written for the pink album because it reminded me of something that could
have been on DIARY. Anyone else think this?
