My take on the Prophet is that it is an amazing song, but that introductory
chant is just too hokey for my taste. Listening to the album, sometimes I
can ignore the chanting and enjoy the song as it builds, and other times I
just have to skip it. When SDRE plays it live though minus the chanting, it
is one of the most powerful songs they have.
I love the structure of that song. Most SDRE songs go up down up down up in
their energy, but the Prophet just goes up, up, up until it's over.
Amazing.
