Guy... Joe Skyward is quite possibly one of the most accomplished bass
players in indie & popular music. It took him about a week to learn Diary,
LP2 & How It Feels... His musical talents are held by many in very high
regard. I haven't even followed his career & I can tell this. I'm
wondering how many people on this list could learn those records in a
month, in 6 months...
It's like the argument I had with my friend about how Blake from Jawbreaker
is a crappy singer. I Love Jawbreaker & Blakes voice - but as with many
bands with punk roots, most of the musicians learned on the fly. Whether
we like it or not, Sheryl Crow & Mariah Carrey can sing... most punkers
can't. Trust me I know this.
It's like someone telling me Nirvana had tons of tallent. You'd be a fool
to believe that.
