Roadside Monument never toured with Sunny Day Real Estate, nor did they ever
do a show with them, but during Jeremy Enigk's solo months, he played a show
at a house that Johnathon Ford (bass/roadside) was at the time living at, and
one of his side projects, called Fellsway, did happen to play that show.
I heard a long time ago from somewhere that lived there that Jeremy did a
show in someone's basement in Seattle with MxPx, and about five other bands
as well. I don't recall the pop-punk crowd much being into Sunny Day Real
Estate at the time, and most certainly not Jeremy's solo work, but I think
that might have been a really interesting show.
Personally, I think '8 Hours' was crazier. I admire the way the drummer had a
chance to be up front a lot and actually carry the songs himself at certain
times. But as for 'Current Taste,' those never-ending jam sessions are
beautifully inconceivable. I would suggest either/or, but as a bunny has to
choose for himself sometimes I'd go for '8 Hours' if I could only hop with
one CD at a time.
