Of course it's not the same, y'all. That's why they're still playing. Did you ever wonder why Girls Against Boys (in my opinion) began to suck? My guess is because in about eight years they progressed an inch toward a different sound, strings of heavy riffs connected by other riffs and gravelly, sexual "come-n-get-it" vocals. For one album, it ruled. For four, it got old. Try this one: in the space of four albums, sdre have gone T H I S far, a leap toward something other than what they started with, even though (agreeably) they started huge. This is neither as huge, nor NOT as huge, it's just DIFFERENT. That's very cool if you consider that the last band I can think of to have developed in such a way after four measly albums was REM. I really, really hope everyone can drop their MASSIVE expectations, listen to the thing in solitude, allow for some growth, and then email us when your mind has been completely blown. Not that I'm contributing to any massive expectations, mind you. :)
