hello list,
when i was at the salt lake city show i noticed that dan and jeremy were
both using identical effects boards (Boss for those that care to know) and
it got me thinking. Back on hiftbso, the boys were both using ibanez
tubescreamers and combo amps; jeremy with a vox and dan with a matchless,
which in essence is a better built vox. then in the diary/lp2 days they
were both using marshall heads and cabs (okay, jeremy was using a carvin,
but it distorted like a marshall) and both used ernie ball volume pedals.
and something that has pervaded from day one is their use of gibson guitars.
god bless 'em for that, i think i would die if they ever deviated from
neck in body humbucking guitars.
it certainly is curious to me (and not a criticism) that the both of them
use the same or nearly the same gear. can anyone out there intelligently
speculate why they use identical equipment? or better yet, does anyone out
there actually know? the only thing i can come up with is that they prefer
a streamed sound and that using different amps, guitars, effects would
clutter the sound, creating slight ambience and dissonance.
but like i said, can anyone out there warrant a clue?
