WOW!!!!!!! THis was my first time seeing the boys in concert since i missed
their show at the metro 2 years ago, and i had huge expectations. I was
BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!! I cannot imagine seeing another concert in my life that
could top this one. My only regret was that they didnot play The Prophet or
Song About an Angel.

No Knife opened and it's not that they were a horrible bad band it is just
that to me, anyways, they soung kind of generic alternative, but they had a
couple of new songs. As i think of it the whole crowd wasn't paying much
attention to them but just passing time before Sunny Day came out.

The songs they played toningt were just so amazing with many of the new
songs sounding even better. Fool in the Photo, One, Killed by Angel and
Snibe were absolutely earth shatteringing. I kept wondering when Jeremy's
mic was going to go out during "Straaange" in One. The older songs they
played were really amazing as well. Pillars was giving me chills. J'nuh
(extended version) was me in absolute heaven as it is my fav song. 8 was so
overpowering with the energy from both Jeremy and Dan (even though Dan's mic
was not very audible). In Circles was the tops, ending the night. I didn't
think they could top the version on "Live"CD but they did.

The live versions of Tearing in My Heart and The Ocean were both powerful
and beautiful, especially Tearing. The keyboardist/3rd guitarist was really
good on giving the keys just the right amount needed for the songs and
provided great vocals as well. The only synth I heard was on the Rising
Tide. Basically for those who have not gone yet, the guy plays keys on Fool,
Ocean, ESTYA, Disappear, Tearing, Snibe and The Rising Tide, and plays
guitar on One, Killed (I think), J'nuh, and 8(I think). The 4 remaining
members(not counting the drum tech who ocasionnally plays tambourine or
other small rythem instruments in the background) play Pillars, Guitar and
Video Games, and In Circles by themselves.

Of course the show had it's fun/annoying moments as well(besides No Knife
(HA HA HA)). There was a screaming banshe girl in the balcony who offered to
have Jeremy's kids, Seven guy in the balcony as well(I also heard people
shout for 48,47, Sometimes, Spade and Parade(?), and Grendel), somebody in
the main area throwing condoms(?) or something small ocaissionally at Jeremy
but mostly at Dan(Hitting Dan once right in the middle of the song) and big
grinning bearded Dan commenting on how SDRE was really "from Chicago" and
other funny comments.

The Pillars/Guitar and Video Games 7" for sale is a spanish pressing that
has no artwork. Considering that and the fact that it was $5 made me to
decide to not buy it. The coolest t-shirt/best design (I think ) is the
TSMAP(Thief,Steal Me A Peach) white short sleeve t-shirt. The other ones
have either a picture of the faces(booklet) on them or the angel(FRONT
COVEr) on them. All the Vinyl and cd forms of all their albums x-cept for
"Live" are for sale(HMMMMMMMMMMMM) and the stickers are rather smale for $1
w/the fly on red or white.

I think I've rambled on for quite a bit, so here is the setlist for the best
show I have ever seen:

Fool in the Photograph
Pillars
One
Ocean
Killed by an Angel
Guitar and Video Games
Snibe
ESTYA
Disappear
Tearing At my Heart
J'nuh

Encore

8
The Rising Tide/Jam
In Circles

Ps.THe bass player was dead on and Will was absolutely amazing. His drumming
is as hard as hell, he does the fills on the old songs(as far as i Remember)
and is just amazing to watch. Maybe this will settle the debate on Will's so
called weak druming on the sdre-l.

Later,
Peter Dobill
