Well, just got back-ish from the Toronto show, and just some notes and
musings...
- At the merch table they said they only had "small" t-shirts due to a
hold-up in customs, which I thought was funny because what's thier excuse
when they aren't playing in Canada? (I've gotten the impression they only
have small shirts at some shows in the US too lately).
- They also said they sold out of the pillowcases but they would probably
have them up on the website soon.
- The place was about 3/4 full, had the band on a raised stage so you
could see them well from almost anywhere in the venue, which was nice.
The female bartenders were also nice. Ahem. Some sort of seating would
have been nice - my friend and I sat on speakers near the back that wern't
being used, but most people probably got sick of standing.
- Faces in Disguise I believe was played, in response to someone saying
htey aren't playing it anymore. I don't have a set list but they played
the usual.
- Dan's mic, if it was on, was on really low and if he sang during "8", I
didn't hear it.
- Also didn't hear any song requests either from the crowd.
- No Knife were nothing special - generic
brandston-getupkid-etc-alternative stuff. There was a huge differenec in
complexity between NK and SDRE... the crowd either thinned out after NK
played, which I find hard to believe, or they simply crowded the stage,
and it looked like there was less people becuase they all squished in
together.
I thought hte sound was pretty good too,a lthough during Guitar and Video
Games one of the guitars just sounded...off, although tye were probably
just playing the notes differently. Ok show. I hope they come back
again.
