Why am I the man? Because I've listened to music for so long, that I'm very picky about what I listen to. None of this radio fodder crap that's out there these days. Deftones? Sure, they play them on the radio, but they made a totally uncompromising record. They get lumped into the same category as Korn and Limp Bizkit, and they could have gone that direction, in order to sell more records. But no, they make the greatest album of the year. As far as Sunny Day goes, any smart person can realize they're amazing. They totally revolutionized what's called "emo" They took the grunge sounds of Seattle, and without realizing it, paved the way for so many other bands. That's why I can't stand most "emo" out there these days. The only good "emo" bands have broken up: Braid, Cap'n Jazz, Texas is the Reason. I mean, TRT isn't one of my favorite albums, but it's still really good. But I think a lot of people on this list don't realize the true greatness of HIFTBSO. Man, that record is so rounded, so complete. It's like, they're breaking their silence and coming back, and saying, here, we're back to clean up all this crap that's come along. Just like the Deftones did with "White Pony" Paving the way for more clone bands. Well, I've said my two words for the night. And, yes, I am egotistical. I tell my girlfriend that's I'm an egotist cause all her exes were always depressed and never had any self-esteem. I guess that's why she wants to marry me!
