>Sometimes Christians go back to the world and follow the ways of the world

>"The light gave me dark" means that once he became a Christian, he realized all of the
>darkness everywhere else.

i'm not saying that anyone's wrong, and i certainly believe that a person's own interpretations of lyrics (especially enigk's) are the most important thing when listening to something.

but, since this seems to largely be a matter of whether or not it's a religious record, i think that we should all keep in mind that ANYone, looking for ANYthing, can always read into songs, books, etc. however they want.  someone looking for evidence of religious overtones in a song, truth of nostradamus' predictions in nature, or anything that takes a leap of faith that the person has already made, is going to find what they're looking for.

for instance, i have always listened to rotfq with the relationship issues with which i've always identified enigk's lyrics in mind.  that aspect is what i'm more interested in, and thus that's how the lyrics have always come across to me.  those who are more focused on enigk's religious "experience" are naturally going to find evidence of that in rotfq.
