Wow, thanks for letting us all know that we are wrong and you are right.
I was wondering there for a little while.

And, I do believe that music is an artform which is meant to be
interpreted in each person's own way. You can write a song about any damn
thing you want but it dosen't matter because everyone who hears it is going
to take out of it something different. The reason for this is that not
everyone shares the same outlook as you and not everyone has had the same
experiences as you. If christianity is a big part of your life, you will
probably see more because you will be most likely looking for it. If you
are not a particularly religous soul, you may not care if there are any
references to the gospels or whatever.
While I admit that there are elements of christianity (you are talking
to an alumni from a christian private school..took me some years to undo the
brainwashing there), that does not mean that ROTFQ is about Religon and
nothing else. SDRE/Enigk's music is too complex for that.
Also, to say that Jeremy's religous beliefs rule the content is to say
that everyone else in SDRE coddles to Jeremy's wishes and his is the main
creative imput. Let's not forget that religous strife is part of the reason
the band broke up in the first place. SDRE is a combination of 3 extremely
talented musicians with, I am sure, 3 different and unique outlooks on life.
That's what makes them so great - that's what makes ANY band so great.
And, oh yea, no one has to go "learn" anything about religon to enjoy
SDRE. This isn't "Christian Influences In Rock 101". Don't talk down to
people like that just because they don't see the same thing you do. Just be
glad that everyone here is all about the love for SDRE.

    Mike

being "religious" as you folks call it, i see more in the lyrics than most
of you that have responded so far do. the lyrics in most, if not all of the
SDRE (and especially on ROTFQ) albums are laced with Christian terminology,
metaphors, phrases, distinction, places, etc... read between the lines.
learn more about Christianity (if you already haven't) before making
judgements on whether or not something has a Christian or "religious" basis
behind it. i love the albums and music, and contrary to most who have
responded so far, i feel that most of the power behind SDRE or Enigk, is
behind the lyrics and Jeremy's passionate (as mike said) Christianity.
