Basically a few notes I think are true on this subject.
  The story's conflict between Will's and the Foo Fighters.  Will says Dave 
re-recorded all the drum tracks, that's when he decided to leave the band.  
The Foo's said, I think, Will left early in the recording process, and 
instead of waiting to get another drummer when they already had one in the 
band, Dave recorded the drum tracks.  And as far as Dave paying for the 
studio time, it wasn't because it was such a huge project, it was because 
Grohl owned Roswell records, a sub label of Capitial Records.  Since Dave had 
creative control, he also had to fund all his label's releases.
