I used to think he was terrible, but I've changed my opinion to just "really bad." The problem as I see it is ignorant mall kids trying to be "hip" (whatever that means) and not figuring out that DC is simply the poor man's Elliot Smith, Damien Jurado, Elvis Costello, Aimee Mann, [insert your favorite singer/songwriter here], etc. Plus, the music is just really fucking boring and not very good. Fourth-rate Rites of Spring lyrics don't work well over unoriginal chord changes delivered via acoustic guitar strumming. Bleh.
