Personally, I think Startup Weekend is a bad idea. (1) Starting a company with a group of strangers is problematic.
(2) Too many cooks. You only need a few people to build a web app. The head count at these events is way too high. (Up to 70 people, in some cases.) (3) If you read the fine print, participants receive a maximum of 50% of the created company. In other words, you're giving away half of your company to the Startup Weekend folk. (4) There don't seem to be any real success stories so far. ... Creating web applications in a weekend is cool, no doubt. So skip the "company" part and just make an app with a group of friends! -- Patrick On Mar 26, 2008, at 4:09 pm, Matt Aimonetti wrote: > That's if you help and vote for our town: http://startupweekend.com/ > cityvote/ > > -Matt --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ SD Ruby mailing list [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/sdruby -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
