My contact at OCS Solutions just suggested that I try this with Capistrano 2.0.0 which I did and it worked fine. (Chris - it also asked for the password, interestingly enough). So... I don't know where the problem lies. But, I do at least have a good workaround so that is a tremendous help! If anyone has a theory on why the difference between cap 2.0.0 and cap 2.2.0 I'd love to hear it.
