I often need a designer to work on my clients' project and the best I can usually get from available folks is a barely decent CSS/HTML that I need to manipulate and split into Rails/Merb layouts/templates.
I honestly think that 1. this is not my job and I don't like it 2. I should let the expert do their job, 3. I prefer to avoid having to get the get a PSD from designer A, send it to web designer B that chops it up and makes it work on all browsers and then I still have to port it Rails/Merb. 4. It's not fair to charge my client to do work I won't do as well as a real web designer That's why I don't do designer's tasks and I don't expect/want them to write my code. The main challenge is that it's really hard to find available people who are talented and professional. That's why I was pretty excited to hear that Integrum http://integrumtech.com offers design and integration work. While doing the merbclass training in Phoenix, I met Jason, an integrum employee and designer who's not scared of git/svn, Rails and Ruby in general ;) I had the opportunity to work with Integrum few times in the past and i've always been very pleasel. I'm personally really happy to know that I will be able to count on their design service and I thought you guys might also be interested. - Matt p.s: feel free to contact me or contact integrum directly ( http://integrumtech.com ask for Chris Conrey and tell him I told you about the new design service) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ SD Ruby mailing list [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/sdruby -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
