Please join us this Thursday for a fun, interactive presentation by
Carlton Nettleton which draws from his experiences coaching Scrum in
China.

~ Techniques for Improving Distributed Scrum Teams: A Case Study from China ~

One challenge facing development efforts that span multiple continents
is how to keep the whole Scrum team synchronized. There are also novel
challenges such as how to communicate the Spirit of Scrum and
self-management to non-Western participants. Carlton Nettleton will
talk about techniques he used to bridge the 10,000 km gap across the
Pacific Ocean to improve productivity, build better relationships and
enhance communication between Scrum teams in the United States and
China. This presentation will describe how using the Scrum tools of
inspect-and-adapt, one can make significant progress on improving
long-standing impediments and diminish the effects of notable cultural
differences and geographic separation.

Carlton Nettleton is the President of Look Forward Consulting, a San
Diego-based, Agile consultancy that coaches individuals and teams on
how to implement Agile principles and practices. He has nearly ten
years of experience working with software products and services in
both a technical and business capacity from small start-ups to FDA
regulated medical products. Carlton is a respected Agile thought
leader in San Diego County and founded Extreme Programming San Diego
(XPSD) in 2002. He became a Certified ScrumMaster in 2005 and a
Certified Scrum Practitioner in 2009.
