thanks for the replies everyone! i'm not concerned with getting loans in my business-to-be's name, at least, not in the foreseeable future. i read some of the replies as speaking to that.
i found the quote from kevin's loan officer friend particularly interesting. i'm not planning on buying a house in the near future either, but it's good to have a vague guideline in mind. anyway, i'm doing a bunch of research still. i haven't really decided to go with an s-corp or an LLC. the prospect of being legitimately employed in the eyes of a rental agency is quite appealing, but it's definitely not going to be the only thing i base my decision on.
