Agile Game Development is the story of how the games industry has entered a crisis of project management and how Agile has provided the answer. The story explains how the industry exploded in size and with this explosion has seen a tremendous growth of team sizes and budgets over the past 20 years. With this growth came all the typically project management problems that they attempted to solve with waterfall methodologies. Our speaker for the night, Clinton Keith, will talk about his role in helping make this change and the new directions this industry is taking.
Clinton Keith is an independent agile coach and Certified Scrum Trainer. Over the course of 20 years, Clinton has gone from programming avionics for advanced fighter jets and underwater robots, to overseeing programming for hit video game titles such as Midtown Madness and Midnight Club. He now coaches teams around the world. He is the author of "Agile Game Development with Scrum" which will be published in May 2010 as part of Mike Cohn's Signature Series. This talk will take place at The Linkery in North Park from 6:00–7:30PM. Here are directions: http://www.xpsd.org/cgi-bin/wiki?TheLinkery The Linkery is in a large maroon building on the corner of 30th Street and North Park Way, close to the 805.
