I’m looking for the site to help our girl scout troop leaders organize our site. Nothing complicated here: a roster, a calendar, and a reasonably functional RSVP facility is what I’m after. I’ve looked at Yahoo, Google, and cobblestonecn.com. Yahoo and Google don’t have functional RSVPs except through a calendar app (which can’t be relied on; eg iCal doesn’t let you indicate how many attendees you’re bringing). cobblestonecn is almost there, but they don’t support that either.
I think meetup would work, but their fees are absurd. It’s bizarre to me that there isn’t something suitable out there. Heck, you could do something aimed squarely at just scouts, charge $50/year per troop, and have a tidy business (no, I don’t have time to do it myself).
